Manus & Associates is a bicoastal literary agency representing writers for over twenty years. The broad scope of our project list includes fiction ranging from commercial to literary, as well as nonfiction ranging from prescriptive to narrative. Our books are New York Times Bestsellers, New York Times Notable Books of the Year, and Oprah Book Club selections, and our clients have won numerous awards including the Whiting Award, the Kiriyama Prize, the Edgar Award, Barnes & Noble Discover Great New Writers Award and the Lambda Award. We are always on the lookout for new projects that empower, enchant, enthrall, and entertain.
Our agents are dedicated to guiding our clients through all aspects of a book’s life. By matching writers with editors and publishing houses for the best deals and the best conditions, we aim to nurture the span of a writer’s career. We help our clients develop, polish, and position their work before we make a sale; after a sale, we continue to support our clients in the marketing and publicity of their books, as well as in handling other rights such as book-to-film deals and foreign sales.
In the dynamic world of publishing, our goal is to maintain client relationships for the long-term. Though one writer works specifically with one agent, our agents are extremely collaborative, drawing on the benefits of teamwork, commitment, and a shared passion for books.
